On the basis of an investigation of 150 patients with hiatal hernia, pathogenesis and clinical aspects of this disease are discussed. Attention is paid not only to solar-vagal disorders developing as a result of sliding of the abdominal cavity organs into the mediastinum but also to further development of autonomic-irritative syndrome with involvement of segmental and suprasegmental region of the autonomic nervous system.
