Antigenic determinants on B cells of farmer's lung patients

B cells from 75% of 36 HLA typed farmer's lung patients, but from only 25-40% of controls, reacted with 6 of 37 sera from multiparous women, which had previously been found negative with T lymphocytes from 150 healthy people. Mixed lymphocyte culture tests with lymphocytes of 6 positive farmer's lung patients and their 7 HLA identical healthy siblings also revealed antigens on patients' B cells.
