Feeding of premature infants: use of intrauterine growth charts to calculate volumes

Three premature infants who were offered volumes of feed adjusted according to intrauterine growth charts tolerated the increased volumes and regained their projected intrauterine growth . It is suggested that optimum growth of newborn infants should approximate intrauterine growth, and that it should be possible to achieve such growth.
