Trials of the insecticidal effect of dusts from 40 types of minerals and rocks, including activated coal, were carried out on rat fleas, Ceratophyllus fasciatus Bosc. A temperature of 21-22.degree. C, relative humidity of 67-70% and exposure of 60 min were standard during each test. The most active dusts were activated coal, palygorskite and some siliceous rocks producing 100% death of fleas within 1-2 days.
