The method for measuring the linear and volumetric velocity of the hepatic portal blood flow in rats is described. It is based on the application of miniature ultrasonic transducers under concurrent contact biomicroscopy of terminal microvessels of the intestine and liver and measuring the systemic arterial blood pressure.
