Allergic reactions to mouth rinsings with chlorhexidine are extremely rate. The allergic reaction to a 0.1% chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash in a 40-yr-old female patient is reported. The rinsing solution produced an allergic contact stomatitis. The allergy was demonstrated by means of the patch test.
