The use of nomifensine in the therapy of Huntington's chorea

Nomifensine specifically blocks dopamine uptake. Low dosages may have a prevalently presynaptic effect with reduction of dopamine release. The drug (25 mg/kg orally) was given to 4 choreic patients. Only 2 patients had a decrease in choreic movements.
