A new method was developed for measuring the rate of capillary filtration. By this method, capillary filtration coefficient (CFC) can be estimated in any organ. CFC in anesthetized cats was 0.055 and 0.129 ml/min per mm Hg per 100 g tissue in the lungs and in the small intestine, respectively.
