Treatment of the pain syndrome in incurable oncological patients by subarachnoidal chemical denervation

Subarachnoid chemical denervation with 96% alcohol was employed to remove pains in the lumbo-sacral region, the perineum, anus and lower extremities in 33 patients. Good and satisfactory results were obtained in 75.8% of cases. In 24.2% of patients there was no analgesic effect. No severe complications were recorded. The method can be recommended for clinical use to treat pains in incurable oncological patients.
