A patient with anaphylactoid reaction to Thalamonal and atropine given as pre-medication before operation was presented. Tests performed in vitro with the suspected drugs did not elucidate the cause of the reaction. Tests performed in vivo in which the drugs were injected in the hypodermis revealed local and systemic reactions. The patients manifested no anaphylactoid reaction to Thalamonal and atropine when they were separately administered or when they were simultaneously injected, each in a different arm. Since Thalamonal and atropine were injected in the patient with a single syringe it was concluded that the anaphylactoid reaction was due to a concomitant action of Thalamonal and atropine.
