External fixation by Hoffman's method was employed in 11 patients with double vertical fractures of the pelvis, 3 of which were bilateral. The results were good in 8 cases, acceptable in 2 cases and poor in 1 case. External fixation is recommended as the treatment of choice in double vertical fractures of the pelvis.
