Relationships between pancreatic blood flow and secretion were studied in the dog following administrations of secretin, pancreozymin [PZ] and glucagon. A double thermistor, tissue blood flow meter was used for the measurement of the pancreatic blood flow. The injection of secretin or PZ resulted in increases of both the pancreatic blood flow and secretion, as estimated by 3 parameters, i.e., secretory rate, bicarbonate output and amylase output, corresponding to the dose amount of secretin or PZ. A close correlation was found between the pancreatic blood flow and all 3 pancreatic parameters. The pancreatic blood flow was influenced not only by secretory rate or bicarbonate output but also by the enzyme output.
