In a dialyzed extract of cock spermatozoa containing proacrosin, a precursor of a trypsin-like endopeptidase, .gamma.-carboxy glutamic acid residues (Gla) were detected. Such residues exist in several zymogens of vitamin K-dependent serine proteases.
