The role of the gestosis (severe course, the gestosis index above 7 points) and in 8 healthy pregnant women. The plasma renin activity and A concentrations were estimated by radioimmunologic techniques. The pregnant uterus influences the plasma renin activity and the A concentrations in the peripheric blood both in the healthy and toxemic subjects. The pregnant women with EPH gestosis form a heterogenous group in the aspect of the renin-angiotensin-A system patterns. The patterns of plasma renin activity and aldosteronemia in the cord blood depends apparently on feto-placental unit function itself and not on the mother.
