Preterm outflow of amniotic fluid in the course of pregnancy

Once amniotic fluid escapes before the due time, there is virtually no chance of maintaining pregnancy in the majority of cases even in spite of intensive treatment. Effective prevention should be given greatest concern. Infections in the mother should be actively caught, particularly following infections of the genital and urinary tract, and early treatment should invariably be given.
