Using of concentrated preoperative radiotherapy in 84 breast cancer patients failed to result in any quantitative and qualitative enhancement of the damaging effect on tumor parenchyma and lymphnode metastases as compared with the routine fractionation technic of irradiation. Shortening of the time of irradiation and the interval between termination of gamma-therapy and the operation should be regarded the principal advantage of the concentrated irradiation technic. Morphological assays of the specimens obtained rise the question on the necessity of increasing a total dosage for zones of regional metastases up to 1500 rad.
