Effective topical method of therapy for onychomycosis

A pilot study of a new topical method in the treatment of onychomycosis involving 12 patients gives promise of cure by destroying the fungi and not the nail. The method is unique in that it breaches the barrier of the keratin, which protects the fungus. The treatment is prolonged, but has resulted in cure. It introduces a new concept of therapy for onychomycosis in particular and nails in general. Onychomycosis as a health problem is also presented.
