Classification of opisthorchiasis

Four phases of opisthorchiasis are described, based on 300 case histories: I early or acute; II late or chronic; III residual; IV re-infection. The clinical manifestations of each stage are described and the diseases associated with opisthorchiasis are considered. In general, the signs and symptoms of stages I and IV and stages II and III are similar.
