In vitro measurement data (3H-thymidine autoradiography and karyometry followed by mathematical anaysis) on the kinetic parameters in proliferating granulocytes in chronic myeloleukemia (CML). The general label index (q1), specific label index (q2), the growth fraction (GF), generation time (tg) and the rate of leukemic cell proliferation (Kb) were determined separately for myeloblasts, promyelocytes and myelocytes in the bone marrow and peripheral blood of 10 patients suffering from CML. GF was reduced compared to normal in all the types of proliferating granulocytes. The kinetic parameters of the bone marrow cells did not significantly differ from those in the peripheral blood. Myeloblasts showed a concurrent decrease in the GF and q1, q2, tg and Kb virtually corresponded with normal.
