During 1968 to 1975 in Lagos, Nigeria, 868 patients (596 males) ranging in age from 5 to over 21 years suspected of having venereal diseases were examined. 35 patients (one was male) were infected with Trichomonas vaginalis. The prevalence of infection with T. vaginalis declined during the study period (13 cases reported in 1970 to none in 1975).
