Exogenous prostaglandins [PG] delayed spermatogenic developments in rat. Histological examination of seminiferous tubules and interstitium revealed a fall in androgen status of testis and inhibition of spermatogenesis. The inhibition takes place mainly during spermatocyte-spermatid conversion process, PGF2.alpha. appearing to be more potent than PGE2 in inhibiting the testis.
