Dermatologists are frustrated by payer constraints that limit their ability to optimize patient treatment. They can benefit from understanding the payer formulary process and places in that process where they can exert influence. Collaboration between dermatologists and payers could improve access to medication not only for individual patients, but for the entire dermatologic patient population.
