Pyometra in rudimentary uterine horn with obstructive dilatation of the urinary tract

Occurrence of pyometra in the rudimentary horn of the uterus may cause compression of the ureter on account of its anatomic position. Preoperative diagnosis of the genital malformation and hints on the presence of an inflammatory process were obtained from selective angiography. The patient was cured by surgical removal of the rudimentary horn together with the homolateral adnexa.
