Changes of general activity of creatine phosphokinase of blood serum and its MB isozyme were studied in patients with ischemic heart disease with varying degrees of myocardium affection. The character of changes in the activity of creatine phosphokinase in patients with coronary insufficiency, nonpenetrating and pentrating myocardial infarction is different. Repeated studies of creatine phosphokinase help establish the degree of myocardial impairment. Cardiospecific MB isozyme is a sensitive sign of myocardial impairment already in the 1st h from the beginning of an angina pectoris attack when there are no clear changes of general activity of creatine phosphokinase.
