Stereotactic guided biopsy in the computerized tomographic scanner

A method for obtaining a biopsy from a small intracerebral lesion by attaching to the patient's skull a stereotactic machine which does not induce artifacts in the computer is described. The placement of the biopsy needle in the lesion is confirmed while the patient's head is in the scanner. This method was used to obtain biopsies from deep lesions in 4 patients.
