Encouraging results obtained from the use of a locally made, portable, battery-operated apparatus for occlusive electrofulguration of divided ends of the vas deferens in dogs are reported. The device has the advantage of portability and independence of electrical main supply and, therefore, offers great potential for trial in humans, ultimately in the Indian rural setting.
