Stapedius reflex threshold elevation and reflex decay was performed in patients with a suspected retrocochlear process and moderate hearing loss of the carrier tone (probe tone) can distort the true reflex decay pattern, rendering the reflex decay test misleading. The technique and procedure applied for stapedius reflex measurement is discussed.
