Electron microscopic analysis of compensatory adaptive processes in the small intestine in animals with pancreatic allografts and chronic pancreatitis

It was established in experimnts on dogs that in transplantation of the pancreas and in chronic pancreatitis there is a reaction of lymphoid follicles of the intestine similar to that of the peripheral organs of immunity. Microerosions of the mucous membrane and lesion of the enterocytic ultrastructures bear a compensatory-adaptive character and reflect a nonspecific component of immune homeostasis.
