Allergic manifestations were studied in 72 patients with strongyloidosis before and after treatment. Blood eosinophilia was found in 87.5%, urticaria and/or skin itching in 52.9%, arthralgia in 20.8%, pulmonary syndrome in 5.6% of the patients. Within 4-6 mo. blood eosinophilia up to 7-10% was observed only in 19.6% of the patients, urticaria and skin itching only in 1 of 23, arthralgia disappeared in 13 of 14 patients, the pulmonary syndrome disappeared within the first few days after treatment in 2 and within 6 mo. in all the patients. The time course of allergic manifestations is one of the criteria in the evaluation of the effectiveness of strongyloidosis therapy.
