The binding of obtained from these 2 methods are comparable. When n and k values of DNA are compared with those of chromatin and DNA-histone (f1) complexes, histone (f1) has an inhibitory effect on the n and on the k. The n decreases systematically with the increase in the histone-DNA ratio. Ng and EtBr probably bind to DNA through the major groove.
