This account of levamisole refers to its pharmacokinetics and its anthelmintic and immunomodulating activities, including the mechanisms of such activities. Levamisole is active against many parasitic nematodes but apparently has no direct effect on protozoan infections. However, in infections such as toxoplasmosis where there is immunodepression, levamisole can be effective as a result of its immunomodulating potential.
