Effect of respiration of mean frontal P, QRS and T wave axis was studied in 50 normal healthy young medical studients. Deep inspiration shifted the mean frontal plane axis of P, QRS and T waves to the right in all cases. Greater degree of shift in AP and AQRS was observed in cases where the resting axis was O-+30.degree. and minimum shift was observed where the resting axis was between +61 and +90.degree. Axis of the T wave shifted to the right with deep inspiration in all cases but there was no statistically significant difference in the degree of shift in the 3 groups. In none of the cases did the axis change from normal to abnormal degree.
