Fractures (1908) of the proximal part of the femur were treated. This included 25 fractures in children under 15 yr. Twenty patients were operated and 5 were treated by conservative methods. Two children were younger than 10 yr. A 3-lamellar nail was used 11 times in osteosynthesis; screws were used 9 times. Results were evaluated in 20 patients. Complications included 6 (30%) avascular necroses of the head of the femur and 4 (20%) varus deviations of the neck of the femur.
