Important information, needed in the judgement of congenital or acquired heart disease, can be obtained by means of time-motion-echocardiography. It is also occasionally a main factor in the diagnosis of pericardiac effusion, cardiac tumors, mitral valve prolapse or hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. One of the key values is the possibility for undangerous and numerous use in repeated examinations needed in observing and evaluating a patient's development or recovery from a cardiomyopathy or after placement of a prosthetic heart valve.
