Twenty-seven cases of hot nodules were encountered during the study period. Women were affected .apprx. 6 times more than men. There was no difference in the sizes of the euthyroid and toxic autonomously functioning thyroid lesions. Three nodules were thyrotropin-dependent, and disappeared completely after therapy with l-thyroxine. Every hot toxic nodule does not require large doses of I131 for ablation. Carbimazole was effective in toxic hot nodules.
