Concentration of sugars in commercial infant foods in New Zealand

Of 18 commercial infant foods 16 were considered desserts and had total sugars 16 to 47 and sucrose 0.3 to 23%. Ten other milk-based foods had total sugars 2.1 to 27.9 and sucrose nil up to 15.3%. Five desserts are studied in detail. The sugar content seemed unnecessarily high.
