Effectiveness of conservative treatment of disseminated forms of chronic inflammatory-suppurative lung diseases

Efficacy of conservative treatment was studied in 191 patients with disseminated lung processes. A therapeutic method was chosen depending on the disease pattern and type of exacerbation of the process (bronchial, pneumonic or mixed). Various types of bronchial sanitation were applied in the bronchial exacerbation, while active antibacterial therapy was given in the pneumonic type of exacerbation. Patients with mixed type of exacerbation received a complex of therapeutic measures including i.v. antibiotics and bronchial sanitations. Positive immediate result of the treatment was noted in 154 patients (80.6%). Late results were studied in 116 patients, followed-up over a period from 1-5 yr. During this period 59.4% of the patients improved, the state remained unchanged or worsened in 34.4%; 7 patients (6.2%) died.
