Isolation of T. gondii attempted by mouse inoculation from 187 suspected human tissues gave positive results in 10 (5.3%). These comprised 6 of 69 (8.7%) lymph node biopsies, 3 of 71 (4.2%) abortus placentas and 1 of 8 (12.5%) bone marrow aspirates. Serological evidence of Toxoplasma antibody in this group of patients was high by both indirect hemagglutination and indirect fluorescent antibody tests. Excellent correlation was observed between high serological titer in the 2 tests and success in isolation. The isolates from the lymph nodes showed the association of Toxoplasma with malignant diseases.
