Brain metastasis is not uncommon in choriocarcinoma, yet there have been very few reports about it in the literature. A clinical analysis of 98 cases with definite evidence of brain metastasis was conducted. The genesis and development of this disease and the methods of early diagnosis are discussed. A regimen of treatment with chemotherapy alone [6-mercaptopurine, methotrexate] is proposed which has reduced the mortality rate of brain metastasis from 100%, before chemotherapy was used, to 46.2% from 1973-1975.
