Vibrio cholerae neuramidase (VCN) treatment of YS (Yoshida sarcoma) cells reduced their transplantability such that animals receiving them survived longer. Subsequent inoculations of VCN treated YS cells along with sham-treated tumors could not inhibit the growth of the latter. Inoculations of VCN treated and liquid N2 frozen cells subsequent to untreated tumor inoculation could inhibit the growth of the latter though not quite remarkably. Significant growth inhibition of the tumor was observed when VCN plus mitomycin C treated and liquid N2 frozen syngeneic tumor cells were used for immunotherapy.
