The ability of the adaptive linear neuron determining the weight of individual symptoms in the diagnostic process. The weight-vector enables construction of the transforming equation for determining the relations between the input and output quantities of the neuron and the realization of the diagnostic process. The ability of the trained neuron to predict the fate of irradiated animals was studied on another group of 20 rats lethally irradiated. The prediction was correct in 19 of 20 animals, i.e., in 95%. Eight animals died and 12 animals survived. The trained neuron correctly predicts the fate of lethally irradiated rats with a high efficiency.
