Incidence of autoantibodies in the blood serum of patients with serologically confirmed Toxoplasma gondii infection

Sera of 90 persons with serologically confirmed toxoplasmosis and 32 clinically healthy subjects were tested for the incidence of the following autoantibodies . Sera of toxoplasmosis patients much more frequently contained SMA (56.7%) and ABBA (31.1%) than sera of the control group (9.4% and 6.2%, respectively). Auto-Ab were detected more frequently in sera of persons in acute phase of invasion and with high levels of T. gondii than in subjects with chronically persisting low levels of these Ab.
