Coexisting tubal and intrauterine pregnancy terminated by delivery of live mature infant

The co-existence of intrauterine and extrauterine pregnancies is rather rare. The most frequent is the collateral development of tubal and intrauterine gestations. Salpingectomy brings, as a rule, abortion of the intrauterine gestation. The preservation of the conceptus in the uterine cavity and a term delivery of living fetus was observed and described. Salpingectomy was performed because of rupture of the pregnant tube and intraabdominal hemorrhage. The intrauterine gestation continued to develop and in due time a liveborn fetus was delivered. The psycho-somatic development of this child is satisfactory (5.5 yr old).
