In the present paper the authors report of the pulp tolerance, marginal adaptation, abrasive behaviour and discolouration of composites. Starting from these properties, they deal with indications, cavity preparation, pulp protection, enamel etching, processing and finishing. Finally, the composites are evaluated with reference to recent findings.
