Histoenzymological mapping of acetylcholinesterase, non-specific esterase, 5-nucleotidase, acid and alkaline phosphatases and succinic dehydrogenase is dealt with in more detail hitherto attempted in the pons of mouse. The acid phosphatase and non-specific esterase are exclusively localized in the neurons. 5-Nucleotidase, succinate dehydrogenase and acetylcholinesterase are present both in neurons and neuropil but the tracts show subdued activity. The functional significance of these enzymes was discussed in relation to their localization.
