The distribution of Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+ and K+ ions in the skeletal muscles and internal medium of male rats after a 22-day flight aboard the biosatellite Cosmos-605 was studied. The concentration levels of these ions in the contractile tissue and internal medium did not substantially change in respect to relative ionic selectivity of these tissues in comparison to controls; the 22-day action of cosmic factors during the flight produced no important changes in the electrolyte compositon of muscle tissue.
