The results of 25 idiopathic frozen shoulders of 21 patients between the ages of 47 and 74 are reported. The patients underwent limited treatment over a 2 yr span. All except 1 patient completely recovered. Idiopathic frozen shoulder is, in the majority of cases, a self-limiting condition in which symptoms subside and full shoulder movement returns within a maximum of 2 yr from the onset of symptoms.
