Undistorted registration of intracellularly recorded action potentials requires compensation of the undesirable effects of transmission characteristics of the inserted portion of the glass microelectrode. Employment of the principle of a negative feed-back system for constructing the active filter may be the best method of achieving the necessary compensation.
