A chinchilla died with convulsions in 1957 and portions of its brain were embedded in paraffin. In 1977 pieces were re-embedded and sectioned for electromicroscopy. It contained 2 kinds of parasites which were identified as Toxoplasma gondii and Frenkelia microti. For comparison, the brain of a Microtus agrestis infected with Frankelia was similarly examined. The appearances conformed to those described by previous workers.
