Evaluation of the sustained swing-torsion test for localizing lesion in the vestibular organ

In 300 of 600 patients with disturbances of equilibrium, examination by electronystagmography [ENG] revealed peripheral lesions and in 300 lesions of the central part of the vestibular organ. Analysis of the ENG recordings of the sustained swing-torsion test showed significant differences in the pattern of induced responses between the 2 groups with differently localized lesions of the vestibular organ.
